Madison, WI – Once again, the Dane County Regional Airport is in the national spotlight for providing exceptional local travel experiences reflective of Dane County and south central Wisconsin’s history and cuisine. The Gastropub, located at the focal point of departing and arriving passengers, delivers diverse tastes that offer a world-class experience – giving local travelers and newcomers a taste of Wisconsin they’ll long remember.
"The Dane County Regional Airport continues to provide a great experience and offer impressive amenities for visitors and frequent travelers," said Dane County Executive Joe Parisi. "We are excited to have MadTown Gastropub receive this recognition from Food Network."
Serving breakfast through dinner and last departures, MadTown Gastropub features a menu of fresh, sustainable dishes created by James Beard Award Winner, local chef Tory Miller, and is operated by SSP America. Food Network travel writer Samantha Lande suggests the Tomato Ball Soup, "a fun riff on matzo ball soup, with a tomato-based soup and crispy risotto ball."
"As a Madison local chef and owner of four restaurants, I want travelers to experience a true taste of Madison," Chef Miller explains. "This menu is filled with locally made and grown ingredients that I feel reflect our wonderfully creative community."
"Dane County Regional Airport continues to be a high-quality airport, providing a convenient and affordable experience for both leisure and business travelers," said Airport Director Kim Jones. "We want to educate more people about the benefits of choosing to fly locally and strengthen our local businesses here in Dane County."
SSP America, a division of SSP Group, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, has been the sole food and beverage purveyor at MSN since 2006. They also operate the expanded family-owned Metcalfe’s Local to Go airside shop and restaurant that offers their array of local products.
