Event Description

This training will prepare volunteers to serve as docents for our upcoming Memory Cafés. Memory Cafés are social settings for people with memory loss and their care partners. The Memory Café at the Heritage Center will focus on nature-based programming and occur monthly on the second Tuesday of the month from 11:00am-12:00pm. Ellen Taylor, a Dementia Care Specialist with the Dane County Aging & Disability Resource Center will provide information on how to communicate with, relate to, and support attendees with dementia in the Memory Café setting. During this training, you will learn more about the volunteer opportunity. Attending this training does not require that you volunteer for the following memory café docent volunteer opportunities.
